According to British tabloid, News of the World, Barcelona are believed to be interested in signing left-back Patrice Evra from Manchester United.

Although right now we have Fabio that showing so much potential as left-back, I don't think Sir Alex Ferguson is willing to let go one of his best performers.

It has also been speculated that Barca could make an official offer of €22 million for the 27-year-old this coming summer as they look to shore up one of their only weak points in the team.

I think this is purely a speculation by the tabloid.
